Health Services Research

Families participating in the TRI-CHAMP study complete a comprehensive health screening evaluating the risks for cardiovascular and respiratory disease. Assessment includes:
  • Measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, pulmonary function testing.

  • Obtaining a blood sample from which plasma lipid profiles are determined as well as a complex array of biochemical and inflammatory markers.

  • Participants also complete a series of evaluations related to depressive symptoms, quality of life, stress, lifestyle habits (e.g., physical activity and nutrition), as well as environmental and ecological information.

  • Participants receive a comprehensive report of their results.

  • This report and health information empowers participants to make informed health choices, and to work with their health care provided to make the best possible health care choices.
