Neurosciences

• Dr. O'Donnell is working on the enzyme
phosophodiesterase (pde4) -- where it is found
in the brain, how it works in the brain, how it
relates to behavioral effects, it's signaling
pathways and how it is involved in learning
and memory.

• He is working as well on pde2 which is linked
to anxiety and if inhibiting it has an impact on
anxiety (working with Universities in New
Mexico and Kentucky).

• Also looking at pde10 which is found in an
area that goes wrong in Parkinson's and
schizophrenia.

• He is also beginning work with Dr. Finkel in
Cardiovascular disease to look at the links
between depression and cardiovascular
disease.
