The Lung Center at WVU focuses its research in the following areas:

• Asthma, particularly in children

• Diseases that impact adults like COPD, or chronic obstructed pulmonary disease

West Virginia has one of the highest asthma rates in the country. West Virginia also has an increased level of lung cancer.
